Gosh, Nora, I know it worked in 4.0, but don't remember in 3.0. Try it in
the training DB...add a p.o. for a part not in the part master, receive it
to stock, then add the EXACT part, and see if the transaction history in
part tracker shows your po which, of course, was created before the part was
put into the part master. This is both a blessing and a curse: engineers
here tend to use TEST1 as a part number, then somebody actually put it in
the part master (for what reason, I don't know), and POOF! jobs and issues
and POs appeared!

You could always do an inventory adjustment. But if it was purchased on a
P.O., once you put the material in the part master, the history will "pop
in". Check your transactions, costs, etc. before you do an adjustment.

purchased for an R & D job because they weren't sure it was going to work so
we didn't bother creating the part in Vantage. Now it works and they want to
