BOM Questions?

Hi,
I have issues with the "Where Used Report" also. I don't think it
is working correctly. When I run the reports they are exactly the same. I
looked it up in the APICS dictionary and under "Indented where-used" the
definition is as follows: "A listing of every parent item, and respective
quantities required, as well as each of their respective parent items,
continuing until the ultimate end item or level-0 item is referenced. Each
of these parent items calls for a given component item in a bill-of-material
file. The component item is shown closest to the left margin of the
listing, with each parent indented to the right, and each of their
respective parents indented even further to the right." The definition for
"single-level where-used" is "Single-level where-used for a component lists
each parent in which that component is directly used and in what quantity.
This information is usually made available through the technique known as
implosion."
To me the single level should only list the top level usage for the
part/lot. And the indented should list all. They have the levels coded,
but the reports aren't any different. I tried to use this report for an ISO
audit on trace ability and it was a lot of talking to get around how it
worked. Also it does not list any negative transactions. I haven't had a
chance to report this to support.
Thanks,
Judy

Subject: BOM Questions?

Anyone having trouble with the BOM COST report, it doesn't follow the same
rules as the other standard BOM reports regarding "View As Assembly"?
Such as if "View As Assembly" is checked and you view "Indented Levels" you
could see the levels below?
I think this was broken after Vantage Version 3 some where and never fixed.

Also wouldn't the "Where Used Report" be better off changing the report
format from, "Single Level", "Indented Level" to "Single Parent", "All
Parents"? Parents really arn't indented? Any APICS people want to clarify?
