Bounced Checks

Hey Everyone,

The Enhancement Request Number to be able to reverse out a cash receipt
is 4967. They currently don't have it scheduled since they don't have
enough requests.

If you want this functionality either for this reason or another
reason, PLEASE call tech support and get your call # attached to this
request. The sooner we get enough requests the sooner we may get this.

Thank You

I had a customer bounce a check on me. - How does everyone else handle this
in Vantage?

According to my customer they want me to submit the check again - they had a
mishap with a deposit at the bank.

Depends on how good a customer they are. Did your bank charge you a fee? Even if you submit it again the fee may stand anyway and should be charged to the customer. Probably as a misc. charge invoice. If the mistake was their bank's they can recover it from their bank and pay your fee. If it was their mistake they need to fix their procedures and getting charged a fee will help make it happen. If you submit it again and it re-bounces (with another fee) they should be charged both fees and require a cashiers check. They also go CIA for awhile on new orders. Most states have pretty tough bounced check recovery laws allowing "up to" $x but if the actual costs are lower a goodwill gesture is to only charge the actual amount of bank fee - with a note saying so and warning future incidents will be charged to the full extent allowed by law.

Todd -

How do I take that payment out of Vantage? I am assuming just add another
invoice for the amount they owe me and the charge for the bounce check?

Dina, It depends a bit on how rigid your auditors are but if it were me
I would re-deposit it as a separate deposit and do a plus and minus JE
with the bank reconciliation. Invoice for the bounce check charge only.

Matt
