BPM AutoShipTo Blank Title 89416

Plamen -

You might want to also try:

IF NOT String.IsNullorEmpty(CustCnt_2.Name) THEN CustCnt_2.Name else
"teststring"

This will check if the string is empty too and not just null.

Hope this helps,

Thanks guys. I just found IsNull() when I saw your responses. Thanks a

We enter a new client with address/phone, and a contact for them. When we go to create a ShipTo we have to enter the same info over again. I am looking for a way to create a BPM, maybe in conjunction with a [copy] button that would copy all this info into the corresponding fields of a new ShipTo.

I noticed the file AutoShipTo.bpm by advancebusiness2000 in the Files/Bpm folder. unfortunately it is "custom code" and it is not commented and I didn't find a description of what it does anywhere in the messages, and I find it difficult to deconstruct. I imported it and it seems like it assigns consecutive numbers for ShipTo ID and takes the client name for ShipTo Name. ttShipTo.RowMod does not appear in the data dictionary, so I am not sure what role that plays.

I have seen the tutorial about adding a button to open a web page, but have no idea how to mke it copy a bunch of fields over to the shipto.

Any help is appreciated.

You could do this through a BPM, but you'd have to do an advanced BPM
that hooks into the business objects - a bit tricky.

If you did a customization then you could access the adapters and do
something like this pretty painlessly. Maybe hook into the after adapter
methods that are available to you to trigger this type of action.

Hi Plamen,

ttShipTo.RowMod is a field in the temp table that contains an "A" if the
row (record) has been added, "U" if the row has been updated and "D" if
the row has been deleted. I think they are all the available values -
someone please correct me if I am wrong.

Linda

It can also have a Null (?) value if the row hasn't changed.

Hi Plamen: Unless I am misunderstanding what you are trying to accomplish, you don't think you need a BPM.

>We enter a new client with address/phone, and a contact for them. >When we go to create a ShipTo we have to enter the same info over again.

If the Company name and address for the ShipTo location are the same as the Company name and the address on the main customer sheet, the ShipTo can remain blank. When you create a Sales Order for this customer and there is no ShipTo information in the customer table, the sales order automatically populates the Customer name and address from the main customer sheet the ShipTo fields in the sales order.

We rely heavily on the printed paper. The customer contact printing on various forms (Quote/SO Ack./Job Traveler/Service Call Ticket) is crucial to our business. The easier it is to enter them the better.

The Crystal reports we are using were designed to print the ShipTo Contact (or blank if there is no ShipTo).
I agree that there may be a solution that does not involve a BPM.

Is there a way to make Crystal [XI] use the Contact Name/Phone/E-mail from the BillTo on customers without a ShipTo Contact?

Plamen,

You can create a calculated field in Crystal that looks for the null
values in the shipto fields. When the value is null, put the BillTo
data in the calculated fields. Use the calculated fields on the Crystal
Report in place of the ShipTo fields coming from Vantage.

ShipTo can remain blank. When you create a Sales Order for this customer
and there is no ShipTo information in the customer table, the sales
order automatically populates the Customer name and address from the
main customer sheet the ShipTo fields in the sales order.

I am trying this with an if statement but it is not kicking in [the first if does not evaluate properly]. Here is my formula field. Is there another way to check for empty string?

//Print Contact from Bill To if Ship To Contact is blank
if {CustCnt_2.Name} <> "" //check if ShipTo Contact is blank
then {CustCnt_2.Name} //use it if not blank
else "teststring" //otherwise substitute "teststring"

Try this:

If Not IsNull({CustCnt_2.Name}) then {CustCnt_2.Name} else "teststring"

Good day all,

Our company takes orders and ships from 3 different plants. We are trying to create a Crystal Report, and need to know which table and field contains the Plant in which the order originated.

I appreciate all replies.

Thanks a lot,
