BPM fired email

Hi ,

I am having the same problem I get to send e-mails using BAQ and procedures but nothing with BPMs . I really need to get this to work ASAP. Using BAQs has its limitations and it requires a lot of knowledges in writing procedure (.p) programs. I had the email server accpet all external relays , so its not a problem of the email server. I also tried changing the email system setting in the company maintenance .. also scheduling the BPM action process as intervals ... but no results yet. However, overall the BPMs I am using work except for the emails... I am also looking forward to hear from someone that has resolved this issue.

Thanks,

Lisette Contreras

RE; Epicor 9.04.505b,

this may be a dumb question, but How can I get a BPM to send an email?
Ive followed the instructions in the BPM "training" (class) manual,

Ive set up the method directive,

set up: BPM Action Process, Global Alerts/EmailProcess, tasks on the startup task. (I can send emails from the system).

I have a BPM I built that is supposed to send an email to AR accounting, when a customer flips to credit hold. when the directive (post process) is triggered, I get an error messages that says e-mail was not sent: No SMTP Connection (0)

Am I missing something? DO I need to set up BPMServer? with Microsoft Message Queuing (MSMQ) installed? if so, do I need to install it on the same server as Epicor9?
Did you configure your email settings in Company configuration? Typical
settings are below. Also, make sure your mail server is configured to allow
anonymous relaying.

Port: 701

Email Address: whatever you like

Email Label: whatever subject you want

SMTP Server: Your email server

Port: 25

RE; Epicor 9.04.505b,

server as Epicor9?

Thanks for the reply.
Yes I have email settings set up in Company Configuration. I can send emails from the system, (such as sending an error message to someone, or work file.

I just cant get the BPM to send the email...
