Melissa,
I have a BPM making a field mandatory on the quote head that has been working well for over a year now. If you like I can send it to you offline. Let me know.

Brian,
Good thinking but this doesn't seem to be working in this case. Any other thoughts?
Thanks,
Dustin Biniek

Generally you should be able to just create a pre-processing BPM on QuoteHed.Update where the conditions are 1) QuoteHed.Character0 1 = "" and 2) QuoteHed.QuoteClose d = True (in the updated rows), and then you can raise an error.
Sometimes those event-oriented methods are useful, sometimes not, but often just capturing the Update() is good enough in more straightforward cases.

Subject: [Vantage] BPM on Quote Closing
Hello All,
I need to create a BPM to prevent a user from manually closing a quote if the contents of the "QuoteHed. Character01" field is blank. Has anyone done something like this or have any thoughts on how or what I need to do to accomplish this? It appears to me that the methods I will need to utilize are either the "Quote.PreOpenClose Quote" method or the "Quote.OpenCloseQuo te" method. Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appeciated.
Thank you,
Dustin Biniek
