Hi Joe

I'm new to Progress 4GL as well, but quickly realised I needed to know
some basics to make BPM do what I wanted - particularly getting email
addresses from employee and work force records.
Can I email you some samples? Is the email address on your Yahoo ID the
best to send to?

Cheers

I have configured BPM to send an email alert to a managers attention
that requires their approval. I have been able to attach the buyers
name, vendor information and PO Number, but I cannot find a field that
allows me to display the total amount of the PO. I have attempted to
use the field from the Table "POHeader>ApprovedAmount" but this comes
back with a $0.00 dollar value. In the Dashboard "Purchase Order Entry"
there is a field named "Order Total" but I believe this is a calculated
field and I cannot pull this into the BPM.

Anyone have any ideas how I can create a custom filed to calculate a
sum for the total amount of the PO? And the be able to display this in
the BPM report?

Hi Joe

I hit the same problem with BPM, where some values I wanted to use in
an email template were not available in the dataset. There doesn't
appear to be any way of adding custom data fields directly into the
email template. So the way I've got round this is to add some custom
code to the BPM Action that temporarily populates a user defined
field in the dataset.
On the form where you add the list of Actions there is an "Advanced"
button that displays a 4GL template to add code before and after the
Action. You need "BPM Advanced User" privilege to use this.
It's not an ideal solution, but it works.

Hope that helps.

Thanks Dave;

Another favor to ask? I am new to 4GL, any chance at getting a sample
code that will allow me to do a lookup based upon a user ID to get
their respective email address that I can paste into the email
template? Many Thanks in advance
