BPM validation error

For example, go to MfgSys803\BPM\BO. You should be able to see the .p files and use a normal text editor to view them.

When validating my 4GL code in a BPM method directive I sometimes get errors like "** Could not understand line 54. (198)". Presumably, line 54 refers to a particular line of code, and it would help if I could figure out exactly where in the code that is. I know it is not the 54th line of code, because I have tried counting the lines, and I may not even have 54 lines of code when I get a message like that. So, is there some way to know which line it is that needs attention? Occasionally, the rest of the error message includes a little bit of the line of code, so I can find that particular part by scanning the code. If that does not happen though, I have to comment out blocks of code and try validating again until the error message goes away.

Another question. Why would code which worked fine all of a sudden get a validation error, even though no changes were made to the code?

As far as I know there is no way to display the line number the error
message displays which Is unfortunate. Perhaps if you had the progress
development tools you might see it there..

Subject: [Vantage] BPM validation error

When validating my 4GL code in a BPM method directive I sometimes get
errors like "** Could not understand line 54. (198)". Presumably, line
54 refers to a particular line of code, and it would help if I could
figure out exactly where in the code that is. I know it is not the 54th
line of code, because I have tried counting the lines, and I may not
even have 54 lines of code when I get a message like that. So, is there
some way to know which line it is that needs attention? Occasionally,
the rest of the error message includes a little bit of the line of code,
so I can find that particular part by scanning the code. If that does
not happen though, I have to comment out blocks of code and try
validating again until the error message goes away.

Another question. Why would code which worked fine all of a sudden get a
validation error, even though no changes were made to the code?
