Bringing a UD field into an RDD

Hello~!

Similar issue to what I last posted, about bringing in fields to a report…

I have a UD field in Customer called let’s say just say VenNum. I am trying to bring it into PackSlip for auto print. While I can get the table in, it doesn’t capture the information in the field.

I can successfully do this with a UD field in ShipDtl and a UD field in OrderDtl, but not the one I put in Customer.

What should I do?

Thank you!

Did you expose the field in the RDD so that it can pass to the RDL?

I am sorry, I am not sure what you mean when you say expose. I have a relationship made to OrderDtl right now (tried OrderHed too) and I unchecked it from the exclusion list.

Are you working in the PackSlip RDD? You do not need to bring in the Customer table as it is already there twice. Customer Bill To is the Sold To and Bill To records and Customer Ship To is the Ship To record. All you need to do is un-exclude your field in the Customer Bill To table.

Yes, well a copied PackSlip RDD I can edit. I don’t see my UD field outside of Customer table.

That is weird. Maybe there is an issue with the UD fields not showing up because they are more like a view than a table. I don’t have any UD fields on Customer, but I checked Part and my fields were there.

Sorry I can’t test further. Hopefully someone who has a UD field on Customer could check for you. @dcamlin or @utaylor , either of you?

I DO have UD Fields on Customer… but I don’t have a custom PackSlip to play with.

But, below is OrderAck RDD and the UD Fields are included in my Exclusions:

I filtered for columns containing “_c”… my two UD columns are in there.

Thanks @dcamlin , mind just copying the PackSlip RDD and checking? The tables in the PackSlip are not called “Customer”. Epicor gave them aliases and I was wondering if the UD fields still carried over with the alias name.

They do show the UD fields in the CustomerBillTo Data Source for the Pack Slip RDD:

They do NOT however appear to be included in the CustomerShipTo Data Source.

Awesome @leonardpothier . Thanks.

@mlp , I know that sometimes when I copy an RDD the UD fields do not “appear” right away. Sometimes I have to save the copied RDD before they appear. Any chance that might be the issue as @leonardpothier sees the UD fields in theirs.

Whenever we add a table to a RDD, we’ve ALWAYS had to save it, then close the RDD screen and re-open it before the fields populate. You can’t even set a relationship up until that is done.
