Bug in "Select Customization and Translation" or am I doing it w

NEVER modify and save the base with changes.
Save your mods under a customization name and then activiate the customization via menu maintenance.

How do I make the customizations for all?

I'm using the "Epicor Tools User Guide"
we're have 8.03.404a

I put Vantage in Developer Mode (my logon has Security Manager)
open Sales Order Entry
I check "Base Only"
(book says that 'Available Layers " should now be disabled, but it is not)

Follow the basic sample in the book about discount being over 5% turning the DiscountPercent background red.

Using the rule wizards, I create the rule as per the books instructions

Save it, name it, and close the Sales Order Entry screen
Remove Developer Mode
Test the rule, and it doesn't work.

Put Vantage back ni Developer Mode, open Sales Order Entry.
My modification is not listed under Base as the picture in the book shows, but my modification is under Customizations.

So, if it's A. supposed to be under Customizations, how do I make it default for all users?
or B. How is it correctly under Base so that it is default for all users?

Thank you!

AFAIK, you can't. You select the customization in Menu Maintenance. So if you
modify Part Maintenance, you'll have to go to each place in the menu tree that
people can execute Part Maintenance and change the "customization" field for
that menu item.

Tony,

You have to go into Menu Maintenance and find the Screen (in your case Order Entry) and you will have an option about ¾ of the way down that says customization...now assuming you saved your customization, select it and save it...close Vantage and reopen....should be there.

Hope this helps.

Hi

The customization will appear under the version of Epicor you are
using VN for Vantage VS for Vista. To deploy your customization to all
users look at page 155 of the Tools guide it explains how to do it there.
