Not sure what you are asking but if you change burden rates they will
only
take affect after any new labor transactions are recorded, it does not
go
back and update rates on open jobs. The system know what the burden rate
is
at the time the labor transaction occur and from that point forward does
it
change it. The data is written to the Jobs Detail at the time it happen
and
with the information the system knew at that time.

Does anyone know if I change my burden rate would I have to get details
on
my existing jobs, or does the system automatically update them?

TIA!

Ok Group,
I come with a procedure question.
Start off with Vantage 6.1.518.
We run several rotary Plastic Thermal Formers. Each former is set up as a
workcenter.
We have setup split burden because any given job/tool could have multiple
employees working on it (especially for setup). But here is the twist...Any
given workcenter (Former) can run one or more jobs/tools at one time. We
know we like to run multiple jobs per machine because it cuts the burden
(and increases production) but we can't find a good way to reflect this in
Vantage.
For instance Machine 1 runs job A for 1 hour and gets a burden of 1 hour
assigned to the job.
If Machine 1 is loaded with job A and B and runs for an hour, each job gets
1 hour burden for a total of 2 hours of burden for 1 hour of machine time.
The additional tool/job does not actually increase the cost of running the
machine, therefore it should only show 1/2 hour of burden per job for a
total of 1 hour of burden at the Former.
Has anyone come up with a good way to reflect this, or is there a workaround
available?
Any suggestions are appreciated. Remember though each machine can run 1 or
more (even up to 4) jobs at once, but can also be run for just 1 job.
Thank you,
Aaron Hoyt

I have had a similar problem. I person running 2 machines on 1 job.
I set up the two machines together as a new machine. (actually work
center)
With the sum of the burden rates for the two separate machines.
You could set set up 2 new machines with 1/2 the burden rate on each.
Then you would have to have more for 3 jobs. Then 4 jobs.
gets messy doesn't it.

In 6.1 is automatically updates as burden is charged. When I change
burden rates all I do it change the rates in the work center.
