C#, .Net Developer for E9 wanted full-time



Position Title: Business Systems Developer
Reports To: Director of Information Technology
Coghlin Company: Columbia Electrical Contractors, Inc.

The Business Systems Developer within Coghlin Companies, Inc. will prepare complex application programming designs, determine solutions to complex system issues, develop and document a plan of action, code programs, prepare test data and perform testing/debugging activities.


• Analyzes complex business or systems requirements, determines solutions or enhancements and develops a plan.
• Works with functional employees on programming issues and projects with discussions lead by a Business Systems Manager or a member of management.
• Reviews code and perform an adequate level of unit, functional and integrated testing to ensure quality standards are attained.
• Document the cause, effect, and resolution to production issues.
• Completes unit testing to ensure total functionality is in place. Creates and executes test plans/activities to obtain end user approval.
• Participate in process assessment programs and make recommendations to improve software development methods.
• Develop proficiency in the design and maintenance of database resources; perform related database work. Work with employees to support the development of analyses, dashboards, reports, and ad hoc queries.
• Researches available tools and technologies to provide innovative solutions to application problems.
• Participate in disaster recovery planning and backup processes.
• Remains on the forefront of emerging industry practices and technologies by means of newletters, networking, seminars, groups, or conferences to help drive product improvement initiatives.


• Microsoft .NET framework 3.0, VB.NET; C#.
• technologies such as ASP.NET and AJAX implemented in .NET.
• 4-year college degree or equivalent experience and willingness to learn.
• Crystal Reports or experience with other reporting tools is a plus.
• Knowledge of data modeling concepts and relational database definitions; Experience performing programming design and analysis with database.
• OpenEdge (Progress) databases and MS SQL.
• Analyze and recommend solutions to programming issues, defects and bugs as assigned or encountered.
• Schedule, organize and complete work in accordance with deadlines.
• Communicate effectively with co-workers, quality assurance staff, system users, documentation staff and management. Work effectively in a team
• Ability to travel to other sites as needed.
