Calendar and scheduling

so if queue time in Vantage 6 was 24 hours the queue time in Vantage 8 will need to be 72? (because Vantage 6 was based on 8 hours a day 5 days a week and Vantage 8 is 24/7)
Â
also if i had an outside processing lead time of 15 m-days what happens to the lead time in Vantage 8?

Tara, we tried and as I remember (it was awhile ago) queue times without APS are calendar based and can only be scheduled in 24 hour increments

You will have to confirm this, but I think they changed queue times to only
work between routing in the same job. If you want queue time between jobs,
ie. first operation, you have to use the kit time or production prep buffer.

after converting from 6 to 8.03.406, we ran global rescheduling. all
the queue hours converted over but the schuedule of the job is
inaccurate. does anyone know what calendar 8 recognizes, is it
calendar hours or manufacturing hours? if it is calendar hours, do the
queue times need to be increased?

Queue times are scheduled off a 24 hour/ 7 day week even if your shops
hours are different. This makes sense as it allows the user to change
the shop calendar without having to recalculate the queue times on
operations. The problem is that 48 hours of queue time may not result
in 2 working days depending on when the job is scheduled and if the
weekend comes into play.

I had this same issue. Look at the Production Calendar Hours. You probably have them 1-8 or if you run a 16 hour day, 1-16. The numbers actually represent the Hour of the Day. so 1 represents 1 am and so on.

so the help menu tells us to set the default hours to what our shop runs. tech support and the consultant told us to enter 24 as the default hours and chose what hours we would be running in the shop. i tried both ways and it didnt change the queue time inbetween operations on the same job.
