I am editing a Configurator made by a consultant a couple of years ago.
Is it possible to add/edit operations in the Super BOM?
I am actually not even sure how the Super BOM was initially created, was it in the Engineering Workbench or in the Configurator Rules? At least it cannot be checked out to the Engineering Workbench anymore.
I have also a more specific question: How to set Final Operation and Auto Receive into Inventory automatically for the last operation of the configured part (In this configurator, the last operation is always the same).
These fields seem to not exist in any table at all.
Okay this may get long winded and if so I am sorry. You can absolutely change just about anything about the configurators.
It may be helpful to think of the configurator and the BOM/BOO as two independent items. The BOM/BOO are modified in Engineering Workbench. The configurator is like the code that you place over the BOM/BOO and modifies it based on the configuration. It’s possible to have multiple parts tied to the same configurator. You could even have the same part (different revisions) tied to different configurators.
To check out the part in Engineering Workbench you may need to unapprove the configurator and/or part revision. That is actually a total guess on my part as I thought once you check out the part it automatically unapproved the configurator but I also think that is a setting in site maintenance.

You can change any of the materials or Operations, BUT:
do NOT delete any that are tied to method rules. That would scramble the method rules
Do NOT resequence the materials or operations… method rules work based on the Sequence number value, and not the part number… so operation #10 needs to stay Operation #10 forever once you have a rule applied.
YOU SHOULD BE ABLE to CHANGE however:
the value of the part, its quantity, and any other values in teh material
the OPERATION, and click the auto receive to stock and final operation.
I tried to unapprove the configuration, and the revision turned into unapproved state. The Check Out Revision option was still unavailable.
Then I reapproved the configuration, and the revision turned back into approved state. I re-unapproved the revision again, and I was able to check out the revision and enable Final Operation and Auto Receive into Inventory.
