John,
Sorry, I forgot to mention there are two ODBC links.
The OBDC link from Access to Vantage - READ ONLY - Open db on server, log
into, and leave running!
Then create a ODBC DSN to the Access DB - ALSO: READ ONLY. Users get there
data from here without
having to log into the Vantage ODBC. With READ ONLY you should not have a
problem with users
corrupting the data.
Also, at our last user group meeting, Kevin Rosell from Epicor mentioned the
idea of possibly putting all the contacts into one table in Vantage. This
would
make things much easier or harder depending on how your populate other
contact lists !!
HTH,
Calvin

Hi Calvin,
How do you link Access db to Vantage without have the risk of corrupting
the Vantage Database?
Thanks,

Patrick -
For a one time dump, use the BAM/Export Utility and then map the data
into Outlook.
Also you use an Access DB on the server with link tables to Vantage,
you can create a dynamic link between Vantage and Outlook as well as
Vantage and WinFax. In Winfax you can setup a separate phone book
that is dynamic from Vantage and in Outlook you can setup a separate
contact list that is dynamic from Vantage. This way the user only
needs to maintain the contacts in just Vantage - not both systems.
HTH,
Calvin

Can Vantage Customer Contacts or Vendor Contacts be imported or exported

Outlook Contacts?
Has anyone done this?
