Can you have too many approved part revisions?

Thanks for both responses. Between the two, I think I found the
problem. We set "Use Part Rev" to True for all parts, but I wanted
to double check. The part was set up correctly, but while I was in
the Part Maintence screen, the effectivity date of the revision
caught my eye. We don't have capacities set at this time and most
of our drawings / revisions are pre-Vantage. This part is a little
quirky and it looks like the new revisions were created
and "effective" on the same date as the job was due to complete.
(We've got some folks at are getting up to speed with the concept of
scheduling on something besides a napkin.) Since the operation
requiring the manufactured component was now due in the past,
Vantage used the latest revision approved at that historical date.

Thanks again.

We are running 6.10 and MRP is spitting out some unexpected jobs.
We have 6 master jobs (engineered, released and scheduled) and each
includes a different approved revision of the same part. The
revisions were created as they were added to the master jobs. Up
until today, things seemed to be working fine, but with a smaller
number of approved revisions. Today, MRP jobs were generated for
revisions 1, 2, 3, 3, 3 and 3. The master jobs still call for
revisions 1 through 6. Any ideas as to what is happening?

You may want to check and see if your schedule or capacity is pushing your
required date(s) for mrp to the prior versions we noticed this last year.

Check your part in part master file maintenance, there is a checkbox that
says Use Part Rev.
