Can't login to the DMT tool anymore?! Did they migrate to the Powertools now?

Did I miss something? Lately I can’t get the DMT tool to login. I know the Smart Client goes away real soon, maybe I missed the off ramp.

I found the Powertools client, but the instructions show a security group for Powertools and I don’t have that group yet, not sure if I can just create it?!

Sorry if this post exists somewhere already. Thanks in advance.

We are cloud, on 2025.2. I just opened DMT without issues. Using the old client version, not new powertools. I haven’t figure the powertools out yet…

I believe it should work as ususal if you only have the client installed. I only ran into probs after installing PowerTools and had to modify sysconfig files. Eitherway, it probably worth checking your sysconfigs. Can you login to the classic client?

I can’t get the classic client to connect either :frowning:

I even re-installed the tools from a fresh download :frowning:

Oh boy, decided to try to login to our THIRD to see if it is working, it is working?!?!? so must be something on our LIVE server?!?!?

I just installed powertools. DMT still works as a dedicated app, and from the powertools menu.

I don’t have the “Powertools” security group, I did download the powertools from EpicWeb.

I think I might need help with the default.sysconfig, is there a post on here about that?

I also do not have the powertools security group. I am on 2025.2.16, so I had to choose one of the powertools that was further down the list (not the top one). Also must install as admin. I didn’t do anything with default config. I noticed that power tools pulls the windows account username and auto populates the username field. This threw me off as I thought I had the wrong password, i just had to change my username.

OK support had to restart our instance to fix my issue, well the DMT issue. My other issues will require far more help of “other” professionals, or copious amounts of fermented distilled and aged beverages, LOL.

The good news is there is a tool in the Powertools folder configeditor.exe which you can run each time you install a new version of Powertools.

I actually install a new Powertools 3 times and place inside a separate folder for live, third and pilot.

This is so I can run the Advance Print Routing for any of the three environments should I need to.

However, once installed I run config editor for each environment to change to AuthenticationMode to idp, and am then able to run DMT or APR
