Capitalizing Fixed Assets from C.I.P

We would like to move our fixed assets from Sage to Epicor. I’m testing in the 3rd environment. When I do an asset addition entry and use ‘Miscellaneous’ as the addition type, the entry errors out because it only knows where to put the debit side of the transaction (asset cost mapping under the GL control code). How do I tell it what to hit on the credit side of the entry? Our process is to vouch AP invoices into our C.I.P. account, and then when the asset is placed in service, we’ll move the C.I.P. amount over to the Fixed Asset account.

Welcome!

Epicor uses the Asset Clearing account from the Asset GL Control tied to the Company for the credit on Asset Additions. There is an Asset Management Hierarchy Guide available in EpicWeb that will walk you through exactly which GL controls are used when the posting engine decides on which accounts to use.
