Certifications for Steel Chemistries V8.03

Um, without knowing the ins and outs of v8 I don't know. I would have
suggested splitting the jobs but I presume this is not practical from
an operational point of view. Another option, which doesn't have much
control, is to use the reference field in the issuing process. Use
this as the manufacturing lot number and then report off this? This
has a chance of human error though. I am thinking from a v6
perspective.

We are company that sells steel product. We need to print out Certs
for each shipment that shows the Chemical Makup of the Raw Material
Steel that was used to make each LOT. Is anyone out there doing this
and how have you accomplished it ? The Chemistry information is entered
for our Raw Material Lots During Receipt Entry.
I have in the past had a similar situation in v6.1 where we used CoC
entered on receipts from suppliers. We tagged a sub-report on the
shipment report. But I don't know about 8.03, i thought this was built
in functionality.

Yes there is some standard functionality, but I am unsure how it
would work for us. We have A custom LOT table for Finished Product
since Vantage Does not allow us to create A lot for Make to Order
Items(at the exact time of production) without recieving to Inventory.

Sorry, not quite sure what you mean, not familiar with the process.
Could you explain further? Do you mean that different grades of
steel go into a one job and then into different lots, so you cant
track the grade to the lot through vantage?

Correct, there may be 50 diffent lots created from one job. and we
may use 15 raw material lots with different heat and chemistry info
to create the 50 lots. To make matters worse we are make to order
which does not allow you to create a lot at the time of Reporting
Quantities. So when I ship I have to create A Cert that shows all
the Chemistry Info for each Raw Material lot that is associated with
each Manufactured lot.
