You can get around this by using External Company Maintenance Translations

Interesting, I ended up swallowing the hard pill to swallow and went back and changed all the country tables to match across all companies.
I will be using some translations down the road for certain global fields, hoping to get account segments and such translating but haven’t really dug into it much.
