Changing companies without going back to the home page in 2025.2

Did anybody else notice you can now switch companies AND sites without going back to the home page first?!?!? I haven’t seen anybody else post about this Epicor miracle? We have been begging for this functionality for literal decades and its finally here. Kind of amazing there was no announcement about it and every “idea” I ever entered got marked not planning to implement. Yet here it is.

version: 2025.2.9/on prem/browser, 2025.2.7/cloud/browser

Thank you whoever made this happen!

I hope that isn’t just a bug that they intend to fix (crosses fingers). I’m planning to upgrade to 2025.2.x at the end of January. We’re no longer multi-company/site, but I remember the headaches well from before we sold off our other company.

Oh, didn’t realize this changed (cloud 2025.2.7)! Glad to see it, for sure!

I love this ability but I’m sure in the next point update they will fix the glitch, no need to wait until 2026.1, such a major problem will need to be resolved much sooner than that.

I sure hope not. I can’t imagine how it would have been implemented accidentally?

Just add a semi colon to the end of a conditional statement. The code afterwards will always execute. I’ve done it many times :unamused_face:

But I agree, I hope it stays.

Not sure how we got onto sql injection but . . . ok?

Nah, I’m talking C#:

if (!anyAppsOpen);
{
  AllowSwitchCompany();
}

Just putting the ; on the conditional statement allows it to always happen.

EDIT: I’m not saying that’s what has happened, but it could be a way to accidently allow this behavior.

You are correct that this feature was added. While it was in an “idea” the idea never was properly connected to the EPIC that enhanced the feature, so therefore notificaitons were lost.
I have marked the two ideas that I found out there as Delivered. (one expired, one still open).
Thank you for pointing out that there were still ideas out there to close.

Also, for those who have not seen it yet, we now added the ability to launch a program (Part entry, job entry, etc), and then press the icon in the lower left, and choose a different company or site.
The system checks security, and does several other things… like, if you came to this screen from another screen, or if you did a right=click on this screen and launched another screen, we delink those screens since they are still in the old company/site.

This came out of a discussion during the Controlled Release, I believe for 2024.2…

Thanks… merged that one in also… so far that is three different ideas for the same issue. could be more out there.

I love being able to change companies without going back to the homepage! :heart_eyes:
But, I have run into one tricky situation - if I have a part open in Part Maintenance and change companies, I’ll get the “Record not found. Add new?” Pop up and sometimes people click Yes quickly before reading it :sweat_smile:

Yeah that is definitely a gotcha, it would be nice if it didn’t actually try to load a specific record when switching companies.

Interesting, when working in Order Entry and flipping to a different company it loads it as a blank record so perhaps Part is a bug?

Thanks for pointing this out. I am also seeing the same issue with our Part Maintenance.

We have company specific layers, and I noticed it doesn’t reload the layer to the company’s layer. Hopefully it’s fixed in the next release!

The option to change companies from any app is a great win…once they work out some of the bugs!
