Changing fiscal year to calendar year

We did this a few years ago, moving from 7/31 fiscal end 2006 and a "short year" from 8/1 to 12/31, also 2006. The easiest way I found was to changed the number of periods to 17 for 2006. At July 31, I closed out all income statement accounts to RE and then kept on accumulating info for the short year. It was REALLY easy with minimal work.

Subject: [Vantage] Changing fiscal year to calendar year

I have a question to this wise group. Our company is changing fiscal year
end, due to actions beyond my control.

We have contacted Epicor and are awaiting a quote from their cu$tomization
group.

Our "old" fiscal year was 5/1/xx to 4/30/xx. Thus our existing fiscal year
is 2011 (5/1/10 - 4/30/11). Our new fiscal year will be 01/01/xx to 12/31/xx
(fiscal year equals calendar year).

Vantage will not accept duplicate year existing FY 2011 and new year will
also be FY 2011.

We are on Vantage 8.03.408B running SQL db.

We have until 12/31/10 to find the correct, quickest, accurate and less
expensive solution.

Any help from someone who has tackled this challenge will be appreciated.
You may contacted me offline also see below,

Thanks

Oscar
