Changing or replacing "Plain Text" reports (Ver 8.03)

There are still a few reports in 8.03 that don't use Crystal and the Variance Report is one of them.

Is there a way to change or replace the system reports - the ones that only have a report style of "Plain Text"?

For example, when you select "Print Variance Report" when in the Count Group Entry screen, the only Style choice available is "Plain Text".

If the report can't be modified or replaced, is there at least a way to have it render and print in landscape instead of portrait?

As far as I know you can't change them unless you have the SDK.

I'm on 905 so I cant really speak to how its done on 803, but aren't reports run from crystal?
