Character field grouping 6.1

Hi Bruce

It's because it is a memo field and crystal doesn't like memo fields.
You will find you cannot create formula with them either. In Vantage
8.00 Epicor have got around by introducing shortcharXX as well.

The way you would work around this, is by using an SQL expression (in
crystal) which would convert the data to a string (maybe truncate it),
so the field can be used

Hope it helps

Gary Parfrey

Subject: [Vantage] Character field grouping 6.1

Is there any reason I am missing where I cannot group within Crystal 8.5
on characterX fields (VB FORMS)? There is no error message. It
simply does not show as a field I can group on. It does show as a field
I can include within the details of the report.
