Chart Tracker Add Column

I was able to complete this by using the dynamic query method and adding columns, the hard part was figuring out how to get to the results I wanted in the BAQ. I had to use the TranGL and the parttran tables using some of the numbered key fields as links.  Once I was getting the right PO number and line for a journal entry I was good to go and just inserted the columns and had a dynamic query run on the Initializerow event.

Hello Group,

I have a question regarding the Chart Tracker  (Financial Management > General Ledger > General Operations > Chart Tracker)

In this screen there is a tab I want to add some columns to. I want to add PO Num and Part Num to the grid located on Transaction Detail > Specific > Detail tab. This grid shows Journal Entry Detail information. If you highlight a rows there then click on the Transaction Detail > Specific > Cost Transaction tab and click retrieve it grabs information for that journal entry. I want to add the PO Num and Part Num field from this grid to the first grid from the Detail Tab.

However I'm unable to find the way the Cost Transaction tab is getting the information. When I trace what happens when the retrieve button is clicked it shows the gird is using BO GLCostTrans and Method GetRowsCustom. The only parameter that is being entered  is the glJrnDtlRowid.

I've used the BO reader and dynamic queries to add columns to grids however I'm not sure on how to apply the glJrnDtlRowid to achieve the goal of adding the column's values. Any insight into this would appreciated.

Thanks

Have you tried the personalization to add these columns?

All grid views have certain fields that are “hidden”.  Once you know what fields are there, you can unhide them.

All you do is right-click on a grid view and click on personalization (or click on Tools – personalization – then click on the grid view).  Click on the actual grid….you should see the Columns row (with Collection).  Click on collection so that the drop down arrow comes up and see if those fields are there.  You can sort the field name column to find the fields easier.

I did not check on the grid view you mentioned to see if those fields are available.  Just throwing that out there.

Thanks for the response,

yes, these columns are not available in the grid currently. I will need to add them via the BO Reader or Dynamic Query. However I'm not sure how the second grid is using the information in first grid to retrieve the PO and Part Number. It looks like it is using the glJrnDtlRowID, but i'm not sure how that is being used.
You may have to add a foreign key view to get the transglc table added. In the transglc key1 is used for PONum, key2 is used for POLine, and key3 is used for PORelease, IF the transaction record is PUR-INS, PUR-UNK, PUR-STK, et al

Start by looking at the key1, key2, key3 values found under trandetail/transglc detail. I am looking at the same thing so if I get it to work i will do a followup here as well

You can also add them with a BPM using the User define fields.

Subject: RE: [Vantage] Chart Tracker Add Column

Thanks for the response,

yes, these columns are not available in the grid currently. I will need to add them via the BO Reader or Dynamic Query. However I'm not sure how the second grid is using the information in first grid to retrieve the PO and Part Number. It looks like it is using the glJrnDtlRowID, but i'm not sure how that is being used.
