I have been having some strange printing problems with our payroll
checks and I am wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same
issue. The problem started when we were on V 3 and still continues,
although not as frequently when I installed V4. I sent in copies to
Vantage last year and they had no suggestions as to the cause. The
problem is not the same each time. Below is a list of some of the
issues.
1. The letter 'J' missing from all the checks in that batch
2. The dollars printing with an extra decimal pt. i.e. 750.7.0
3. Missing the cents i.e. 750.00 prints as 750.
4. Missing lines in just one check stub i.e.. Missing the vacation and
sick hours used and remaining
5. Adding additional number(s) to hours, i.e. Vacation remaining
15.00 hours will print Vacation remaining 1 15.00
6. Additional characters in a few checks throughout the check run.
7. Lines not printing where they should on a couple of checks in the
run, i.e. up or down or 2 line spaces
These problems don't happen on each check run, and it is more common on
a particular individual's check. It used to be more common on
another's, but we had someone leave and a new person hired in the same
department at about the same time and the problem seemed to have
migrated to the new employee.
The checks are printed to a networked HP 2100 printer using Laser Jet II
drivers. I have re-installed the drivers and tried printing using the
2100 drivers.
No other application has problems printing on this printer nor does any
other user.
Any suggestions.
