Anyone care to share how you sign your Accounts Payable checks? Our current
process of manually signing them is getting too burdensome. Is there some
controlled way of having a laser printer put on a signature when the check
is printed or is a mechanical check signing machine the only option?

We use a signature stamp after the check is printed.

We no longer allow attachments to files. To access/share Report Files,
please go to the following link: http://www.egroups.com/files/vantage/
(Note: If this link does not work for you the first time you try it, go to
www.egroups.com, login and be sure to save your password, choose My Groups,
choose Vantage, then choose Files. If you save the password, the link above
will work the next time you try it.)
Our Controller and Assistant Controller have stamps with their signatures
and just stamp their signature on the check.

In 4.0, one can design a crystal AP check. One could attach an electronic
signature on the CR form.

We sign or stamp them manually.

But you can get your sig's scanned and burned onto a font cartridge. 8
years ago that cost $600. You then print a block of characters that
correspond to the sections of the signature. Benefit is, you can pull the
cartridge an lock it up to keep the accountants happy.

Cheap route is just scan it and stick the bitmap into your Crystal
form. Your accountants will probably balk at this. But with so many
high-tech routes to fraud, it's really not that big a risk comparatively.
