We also use Chinese characters on 6.1. While you can input Chinese characters into Vantage, the programs that export data out such as the Financial Report Designer when doing the SAVE function or the BAM email alerts do not. I was told by support back in 2007 that this would not be fixed on 6.1 but would be "reported" for 8.03.
A potential work around for the Financial Statement is to "print" the Financial Statement to a PDF file. Then use a conversion program (e.g. Able2Extract) to convert the PDF file to Excel.
Unfortunately, for the BAM I don't have anything for you.
Thanks for this though, I had forgotten about this so didn't have it on the list for our E9 upgrade testing.

I have my language settings on Microsoft Excel enabled to use Chinese (Simplified, PRC). I use Chinese characters in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word all the time and I never have any problems.
