Chinese characters

We also use Chinese characters on 6.1. While you can input Chinese characters into Vantage, the programs that export data out such as the Financial Report Designer when doing the SAVE function or the BAM email alerts do not. I was told by support back in 2007 that this would not be fixed on 6.1 but would be "reported" for 8.03.

A potential work around for the Financial Statement is to "print" the Financial Statement to a PDF file. Then use a conversion program (e.g. Able2Extract) to convert the PDF file to Excel.

Unfortunately, for the BAM I don't have anything for you.

Thanks for this though, I had forgotten about this so didn't have it on the list for our E9 upgrade testing.

Here is an example of what happens when I generate Financial Statement or any BAM report. This is what is should say: "银行存款cash in bank" and this is what is does say: "ÒøÐдæ¿îcash in bank".

It must be some sort of character set mismatch. I'm not really familiar
with chinese character sets. The second phrase definitely looks like a
2-byte encoding since there's twice as many characters there as there is
the the one that shows-up correctly.

Hope this points you in the right direction. Good luck!
