Classic -> Kinetic: Paging through Records

Hi,

We are moving onto 2025.2 and getting some feedback from the users. Some good, some so-so and some bad.

Does anyone know what the Kinetic equivalent is for Pulling tabs into different windows. Payment Entry our team loads in the data, pulls the invoice tab to another monitor and they then page though the data looking at the pulled our invoice tab and compare it against a report.

We are also getting a lot of list jumping when moving in and out of the landing pages which, when the ERP how been designed to be vertical scrolling, quite annoying.

Thanks,

If you are in the client you can still open them in separate windows just like the classic screens. In the browser, you can open separate tabs and then chrome has a nifty feature to arrange them side by side.

Doesn’t work properly in 2023 but in 2024+ most of the time the publish/subscribe works the same way it did in classic.

You can personalise panel cards and what is displayed on screen but you cannot actively move tabs into other tabs like classic.

In short: You can move them up and down, hide them, hide columns, show columns - That’s it.

If you wanted a more granular approach you can add a layer to the screen and move the grid, tab yourself.

Showing you a replication of a classic dashboard layout

You must steer the users away from the assumption ‘it will work like classic’ it won’t and it’s not designed to.

Jumping between records

Select the different record without going back to the landing page or ‘skip landing page’ this is now a feature.

In Payment Entry there is no Open With on the right click. Publish and subscribe has been fixed and I am glad about that! is broken in 2023 :frowning:

What record type are you trying to open from payment entry?

Thanks Aaron,

We have done that on some of the pages and they are getting used to using the keyboard. I will see if I can re-arrange payment entry to pin the payments into another card.

It’s no so much “we want to do it like classic” its more “the new way of doing things is slower than Classic”. I’m generally pro Kinetic though having a new interface that is just slower from a UI Design department is very disappointing. We can see the performance increase from data loading etc but that is less time saved than the GUI design.

Its the invoice payments that make up the payment. ATM accounts get a group, which can get up to the 100s, pull the invoice payments tab onto another monitor, then start paging down the payment groups which in turn gives them the Invoice Payments.

I can’t picture what you mean but . . .I don’t see why you wouldn’t able to do this. If the context menu is there in classic it should be there in kinetic. There have been bugs about this so maybe worth a support case if that is what is happening.

It not there. The records we want are a subset of what is on the screen so it’s like saying we want to Open With on a sales order line into a new screen to see all releases. At the moment we would just tare out the releases, load in a bunch of orders then change the sales order.

Like @aosemwengie1 I’m not seeing what you’re meaning in Classic. Can you post a screen shot of what you’ve got in Classic?
