Clicking Dashboard Menu Item Freezes Client

I’m having an intermittent issue where, when I click the Dashboard menu item, whether its the direct menu item or in favorites, my entire client will freeze up. I don’t mean a dashboard but the Dashboard program (Executive Analysis > Business Activity Management > General Operations). The screen never opens. I have to use Task Manager to close Epicor and open it again.
It only happens with the Dashboard menu item and it isn’t every time either. It also happens when I’m in Prod, Pilot or Test.
I looked in EpicCare but didn’t find anything. I’m the only one with access to Dashboard so I can’t tell if others have the same issue. I’ve tried it on multiple computers and it does happen to me on another PC. I don’t know where else to look to troubleshoot this before I submit a case.

Yes and often with the client. Blank screens when logging in, loops errors for specific users when logging in, frozen screens. Guaranteed to encounter one of these issues every week.

Common solutions were:

  • Clear cache
  • Delete all user personalisations
  • Log in to your client with another user, then switch user once you’re logged in.
  • Ensure company anti virus software wasn’t conflicting with the client.
  • Completely reinstall the client

We’ve moved away from the client and onto the browser now. No longer have to deal with these issues week in week out.

Thanks, I’ll look into those steps. We’re still a couple years from moving to the browser.
