Client requirements for Ver 5.2

Has anyone received their 5.2 CD's yet? Shouldn't we be seeing them
by now?

I have been looking at the install directions for Version 5.2 Operating
Systems listed for the client workstations are Win2000 Prof. NT4 Workst.,
Win98, and XP. Does anyone know if that means it won't run on our Win95
PC's?
I am also wondering how much memory, and what processor speed will be enough
for the client to run. Anyone have any experience?
Thanks
Nancy
Has anyone heard if Vantage 5.2 with Progress 9.1D is still shipping
tomorrow?

I heard that it was, and you should wait for 9.1d if you installed 5.2 with
9.1c you would have todo some type of reinstall.

Does this imply that the original 5.2 installation CD shipped with 9.1C.? If
so do we know if 9.1D will be available for download or do we request a new

I was in the process of upgrading our test platform from 5.1 to 5.2 this
morning when this topic came up. One of the first steps in installation of
9.1C where the instructions say to skip this step if already running 5.10. I
assume 9.1C is on the CD for new installs. I did apply the 9.1C23 patch
but stopped short of doing the 5.20 upgrade since it sounds like I would
have to do it all over next week (or whenever the 9.1D version arrives). My
understanding (from description at Epicor site) is that Vantage 5.20 for
9.1D is different code than 5.20 for 9.1C and that the D version requires
re-installing 5.20 even if it has already been installed for the C version.
Perhaps the D version should have been named 5.21? So right now I am on
hold with my migration pending receipt of the D version but at least it
won't be a long hold, the timing is actually pretty nice for me.

If you had requested 5.2 ship early it was shipped with Progress 9.1C. You
will automatically be shipped the new CD that contains Vantage 5.20.208 and
Progress 9.1D. You would need to reload Progress and the Vantage programs.

If you have not loaded 5.2 yet, the 208 patch is still inclusive containing
the fixes from 5.20.202(which I believe was the first cd's Vantage version)
through 5.20.207 so you will have the fixes between the first and second
cd's.

I have been looking at the install directions for Version 5.2 Operating
Systems listed for the client workstations are Win2000 Prof. NT4 Workst.,
Win98, and XP. Does anyone know if that means it won't run on our Win95
PC's?
I am also wondering how much memory, and what processor speed will be
enough
for the client to run. Anyone have any experience?
Thanks

I'm kind of excited about 9.1D. I have really been impressed with the
improvements I have seen with each new release of Progress. I was
disappointed with the status of the ODBC driver. I was hoping for some
major improvements in that area. From what I understand from Tim, there had
been no change.

I hear you. Actually I'm not ready to go to 5.2. I have to get to 5.1 then
5.2, but I trying to get things thought out so I can do this all at once or
in a short period of time. Has anyone received their ver5.2 & Progress 9.1D?
Thanks Patrick.

I heard that it was, and you should wait for 9.1d if you installed 5.2 with
9.1c you would have todo some type of reinstall.

My guess, 9.1D fixes progress or adds it ability to run on all kinds of
platforms and new versions of those, maybe fixes a couple issues with 9.1c,
but as far a new features for Report Builder. None
