Clocking to a job while it is being changed?

Paul,

When this happens, our employees tell their supervisors and when
engineering is contacted, they are instructed to proceed with the job on
the floor (provided the part they are working on is not being changed)
and upon completion, shop supervision makes a labor adjustment, found
under Job Management/Job Adjustment/Labor Adjustment.

changed?

In a perfect world the engineering dept. will crank out a set of
drawings for a project which ends up on the shop floor after
which shop
employees use them to make a final product and in turn use
Vantage Data
Collection to clock their hours to the project.

However, my company is not the perfect company and we end up
doing some
redesigning of the project at the same it is being built. Our
problem is
that while an engineer is reworking certain aspects of a
machine, shop
employees are not able to clock their hours to the same project
because
the records in Vantage are locked by the engineer. The shop
employees
end up filling out little labor adjustment slips which tend to
really
annoy the HR dept.

Has anyone encountered this problem before, or could anyone give
me some
feedback on a work-around?

Thanks in advance!
