I’ve used the cloud management portal (CMP) on the public cloud a few times to data data regeneration and to copy LIVE to a test instance. It’s worked great, it’s quick, and wonderful to do on your own timing.
The last two times I’ve done a Refresh of a test instance from LIVE, the refresh has gotten stuck in the “Stopping the site AppPool” step, and eventually fails. I’ve reported to tech support, they’ve done the refresh for me and consider the ticket resolved. Getting them to address the root cause (I can’t run it myself) seems like pulling teeth. Anyone else experiencing this issue?
I have also ran into issues the past few times I have tried to refresh our test instance from LIVE. Same issue as you, they run it and then close the ticket.
However, mine locks up on the Validating the configuration selected on the destination server step.
Can you provide case numbers to @tguille_epicor here? we should investigate this further… not sure that support has passed this on, or if they just “solved” it for you.

When I pushed back on the second ticket getting resolved without addressing the root cause, I got “The issue was related to problems with the CSI drivers on the underlying nodes in the cluster. Our Automation team is actively engaging with our vendor to work toward a permanent fix, and we’re still awaiting additional updates.”
