CMP - Pilot to Pilot restore

The refresh feature looks like you can choose same instance different date. Has anyone tried Pilot to Pilot restore?

No, we’ve been waiting for you to test it and report findings. :winking_face_with_tongue:

No really, who’s gonna try this? Could be a good alternative to waiting during the version mismatch gap. These gaps have haunted our go live testing EVERY time

All it’d do is restore from the date you selected. It’d still be a copy of your Pilot DB just an older copy.

Right which is what I want when refreshing during Live/Pilot version gap. Start test over with fresh pilot instead of wait a month due to gap blocker

From my experience with the CMP, it fails pretty safely. I’ve had DB refreshes fail, but they don’t crash the whole environment.

Either way I’m refreshing my pilot from yesterday’s pilot right now. I’ll let you know when it’s done.

So my bad for not following up on this yesterday. This completed successfully after about 15 minutes (still pretty new to kinetic so we don’t have a huge DB). I just forgot to keep watching it because someone came and asked for something. You all know how that goes.

I did a Live to third the other day. Took 2 hours or so then failed…Logged a ticket with Epicor ..was up aging in about 20 minutes. When and added ud columns. Regenned the data model, 45 minutes later it failed .. contacted support and they ran it in about 5mins …

I should have realised we were going to have problems after it took nearly 50 emails to get the third environment to show on the portal after them blowing it away… So just going to log the ticket from now on… I just don’t have the time deal with that sort of nonsense…I thought my first ever website in FrontPage was substandard, but the CMP is less than satisfactory, great idea but.

Just did a pilot to pilot. Database refresh was successful, but upon opening pilot, I got an error that conversion workbench processes needed to be run. I ran the ones that were already checked and that’s where it sits. Seems to be frozen with the task: Migrates MetaUIs from disk to DB.

This is exactly what I was worried about. Now I have to contact support to fix the thing that I should not have tried to do myself. I should have just told support to do it. Why did I trust Epicor that I could use this CMP!?

EDIT: I was too impatient. I walked away for a while and came back to find the task completed. It seems like the database refresh worked. :crossed_fingers:
