CNC Maintenance Program

We are a Job Shop of about the same size. Tho we don't have as many
CNC's we do have quite a few Maintenance Programs that we schedule. I
created a Data Base in the Part File Maintenance with a workcenter of
who does the Maintenance, which in this case is our Maintenance Shop, I
basically route this then thru the Maintenance Work Center with the
appropriate text of the Maintenance Plan. I then set up a forcast for
the Part# then just maintain the forecast. This took a little time to
set up but very easy to maintain

We are a machine shop of approx. 100 employees in a single location.
We have between 60-70 CNC machines we perform maintenance on. I was
wondering what other companines our size are using for maintenance
programs and your opinions on them. I have looked into a few and
most seem to have more bells and whistles than we really need. I
have also looked into creating a custom database for this and don't
feel I can donate the time to do it justice. Feedback is much
appreciated.

Bruce,

We use Smart Maintenance from the Smart Ware Group. www.smartwaregroup.com
<http://www.smartwaregroup.com>

It's priced per seat but you can load the Maintenance Request Utility on any
PC and create a maintenance request. It's a lot cheaper than most other
packages. I loaded the request utility on almost all the PCs including all
the Data Collection PCs.
