Herby,

There is a simpler approach.

You should be able to create a foreign key view (through data tools)
to the part table and then just reference part master data like the
other fields in so entry. The new view name will be whatever you
named your fkv.

Is anyone else getting occasional errors when they try to print in
version 408B. The errors are numbers 7224, 7249 & 7209. Anyone have
any insight on what could be causing these errors? Support wants me to
run conversion 130 again but I figured I'd see if anyone out here might
know what's the main cause of the errors.

Those error numbers are not helpful to me but if in the Details you see a
message that says, "Constraints Violation" then the trick is to reset the
defaults on your Report Styles. 408 seems to share some code with 504, so it
may be the same thing that happened to us and other 9.04 users.

Mark, I havent heard that about 504. If you get that message do you change the default report style back to the standard and then reset to the modified report style again?

Yes, make sure to save it both times too.

Hello all.

In the sales order entry form I would like to reference a field of the part
maintenance table. As you may know, part maintenace is not already loaded in
Sales Order entry form. I know I need to create an adapter to partadapter;
however, I am unsure of how to pull in the corresponding row in part adaptor
(part maintenance) that will based on the match up of part.partnum to
orderdtl.partnum. Also, I am unsure of what event to use.

Please help.

Thanks in advance.

Here is my code:

Private Sub OrderDtl_AfterFieldChange(ByVal sender As object, ByVal args As
DataColumnChangeEventArgs) Handles OrderDtl_Column.ColumnChanged

'// ** Argument Properties and Uses **

'// args.Row("[FieldName]")

'// args.Column, args.ProposedValue, args.Row

'

'Add Event Handler Code

'

Dim compAdapt As PartAdapter = New PartAdapter(SalesOrderForm)

compAdapt.BOConnect()

Dim partnumber as String = SalesOrderForm.Session.PartNum

Dim ret As Boolean = compAdapt.GetByID(partnumber)

Dim retdesigntype As String =
CompAdapt.PartData.Tables("Part").Rows(0)("Character05") '//this line is
incorrect and I don't know how to fix it!

Select Case args.Column.ColumnName

Case "PartNum"

txtEpiCustom2.value = retdesigntype '// this line is to
take the value of retdesigntype = part.character05

'// based on part.partnum = orderdtl.partnum

Case Else

End Select

compAdapt.Dispose()

End Sub
