Combo & Ultra-combo Boxes in Vantage 8.03

Hi Rick,

Combo Box & Ultra Combo boxes in the simpliest terms are drop-down lists. You create them by selecting either Ultra Combo or Combo from Tools>Tools Box menu in Developer Mode. Once you create the field you can either attach it to a 'retriever' which from my experience is using a UD Table or you will also have the option of using a UDF from a specific DataSource and setting up the 'Available List Items' you require. I believe you can also setup an array but I haven't tried that and it may require having the SDK to do so.

I need to learn about combo & ultra-combo boxes. I was tasked with building a customization in 8.03 that's supposed to include a combo box which I know nothing about. I looked though the Epicor Tools User Guide but there's no simple explanation. Can anyone help me figure out what they are, what they're used for and how to set them up? If anyone knows of a 'Combo Boxes for Dummies' type of documentation that would be perfect. Even a little info might point me in the right direction so I can learn on the fly. Thanks for your help.

Rick,
A ComboBox is a just a drop down menu with options on it, you can assign it
a data set to populate it
An UltraComboBox is basically the same thing but it allows you to have more
columns on it.

What sort of information are you looking for specifically? They are pretty
self explanatory
