Comparing BOM's

Vantage does not allow the print to file option from the print menu.
However, a generic printer can be setup to print to file. The files could
then be compared with WinEdit. WinEdit highlights the difference in color.
The cost is around $99.00.

Is there a good way to compare two BOM's in Vantage? I have two parts
that are similar, but I want to see what is different (i.e. which
parts exist in one but not the other).

Thanks in advance!!

Andrew
In v5 there is. I haven't tested it for bugs yet though.

We have been looking for something like this for some time. My question is,
does anybody know if you can compare a bom in the partsmaster to a bom in a
job.

In v5, is there a way to compare a BOM on the job side to a BOM in the part
master?

Lydia,

That's how we do it now. We have some BOM's with 1000's of parts, so we would
like to do the compare electronically.

Gotcha. We think 75 subassemblies is an enormous number here. Sometimes
you forget that everything isn't "simple".

Can you print the BOM to a file? If so you may be able to use a product
call WinEdit to compare the files.
