I have a new project I a need some ideas on. We have 2 departments that produce the product in two different ways. And we can use either dept for either part. But we want to see which department is cheapest depending on volume. So I have gotten all the info I need to do this.
Material
Ink-different in both departments
Setup costs-different in both dept’s
Labor
Amount of parts per sheet-sometimes different between depts.
To figure this I was thinking of breaking it down to a per sheet basis and then using that as the multiplier to the total number of sheet needed. Based on these facts, what would you do? I am thinking of a calculator of sorts that we can select the material, which inks, etc for both departments. Then when you hit submit it just graphically shows you the break point. Any ideas or suggestions always welcome.
