Production have started a job with two operations.
The first operation has completed and the second operation has started and 140 units out of 400 completed.
The job has had to be put on hold and the production planner wants to move out the end date of the final operation to 2nd February 2019.
Is there a way to end the current operation (and free up resource) with only a partial amount of the overall quantity completed and create a duplicate operation of the same type with the remaining 260 units backward scheduled to complete on the 2nd February.
Sorry it has been a while since I looked at this but if you reschedule the job using the job scheduling tool based on the revised required date does it not move the remaining load on the original operation to the dates that you require?
Check in your ‘Company Config’. There is a setting that will allow/not allow the Global Reschedule of Started Operations. You should be able to make happen what you are looking to do without a lot of unnecessary work.
