Configurator add new quote line

Thanks for the ideas Bill. This may be a bit over my head since I
haven't done a lot of coding in Vantage but I will let you know how
it goes.

I am using the configurator to quote conveyors with many options and
calculations. When options are selected it adds descriptive text to
the comment area giving us a bullet list of included components. Often
our customers ask us to break out the price of a component such as a
motor. I know we can remove that line from the comment and BOM and
have the salesperson add another line manually but would prefer if
there way a way for the configurator to add the line for us. Anyone
know if this is possible or if there is a better way of handling this
situation?

Interesting question, as we are going to want to do this also.
My first attempt will be to write a Progress routine that will populate subsequent Quote Lines ( from Configurator values), running this routine as a 'rule' in 'set-rules'. (You'll need proVision if you are on ver 6.10)>

However, I'm not sure what kind of behavior we will get while still within the quote.
Another thought is , while configuring and at 'set-rules', write your subsequent 'line' data to the QuoteDtl 'user' fields (ie Number01, Character01, etc.)- Add a button to your QuoteDtl VB Form that will run a routine that checks for 'subsequent' Quote LIne data requirements and then adds the new 'Lines'.

Haven't tried any of these yet, but there has got to be a way.
