Configurator will not create correct BOM from quote or order ent

We create BOM's from Quote that work fine, not sure what support is talking about but I'd like to know their reasoning, my guess would be a problem in 'set-fields' being correct for 'jobs' but maybe not correct for 'quotes'..

When this happens to me, it's almost always an error in one of my rules. I
have not seen differences between Get Details in Quotes or in Job Entry
though.

Just to be clear, the MOM is only created during a Get Details operation and
you can only do that in Quote Entry or Job Entry. There is no Get Details in
Order Entry (unless it's new...)

You can get different MOMs between Job Entry and Quote Entry if you are using
Set Field rules, changing quantities for example. You must create a rule for
quote field and then another rule for job fields. Keep When rules work the
same for both tables however.

Can you narrow it down to the part that it starts messing up on and paste the
rule(s) in a message for us?

We have a simple single level configuration which only uses Keep When
statements. The underlying indented BOM is large but the single
level BOM consist of 20 - 30 different options depending upon the
model being selected.

If we use the configurator from either Order Entry or Quote Entry it
does not create a correct BOM, however, from Job Entry Get Details it
will. Everything is fine to a point but as it gets further down into
the configuration it seems to ignore the Keep When statements and
selects everything.

I was wondering if anyone else has run across a similar problem and
if there is a solution to it. We have been told by support that for
the configurator to create a correct BOM it must be done from job
entry. This seems ludicrous to me. This creates a lot of extra work
for us and forces us to give order entry personnel authority to job
entry and engineering workbench just to get the system to create a
correct BOM for MRP.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
