Setting up and creating the project and phase jobs has been very simple and straight forward. However, one issue we have is that the job number generated for these phase jobs is an auto generated sequential and meaningless number…
I recall in the past having phase job numbers automated as “Project Name - WBS Phase” but I can not seem to find where to set that up now.
Where can I access the configurations for phase jobs numbers?
Sorry for the late reply, yes I did. It was due to having a project name that is too long, I believe it was more than 15 characters would result in Epicor using an autogenerated number.
Not to revive a dead post, but posting the answer in case anyone else comes along wondering (this is one I was curious about too and was able to figure it out).
The character limit of the Job Number field is 14, so the combination of the ProjectID + - + PhaseID cannot be longer than 14 (or put another way, the ProjectID + PhaseID cannot be longer than 13 characters), otherwise it uses the next job number.
