I can't say that I've seen any users with any other type but REMC. But I
have had users where their machine will lock up and when they reboot, it
says they are trying to log on twice. The work around for us is to have the
user log in using the data collection user ID and password. Then select the
menu "options" - "change user ID" and log in as yourself. This seems to
allow it to go in. If the user logs into data collection and then exits
without changing user ID, it doesn't remove the lock.

Subject: Re: [Vantage] Connected Users
I've been having this problem off and on for about the last 3 versions of
Vantage but, it's gotten worse recently. I have had Vantage account names
attached to progress server brokers which is the most common, APW's, and
BIW's which just started recently. I have not got an answer out of Vantage
on this. One possible workaround that I have found, is to allow the user
that can't login to run multiple Vantage sessions. Some of the time the
problem will resolve itself but it may take several days. Then go back to
that account and uncheck the multiple session box. Scott Hearn - Pro-Fab,

user that cannot log in this morning. It says 'exceeding
number of users.' It thinks she is logging in twice. She is not showing up
as a
user via ProMon and we have not reached our maximum number of users, but she
is
showing up in Vantage as a Connected User with a type of SERV. All other
users
show up with the REMC type. Why and how would this user get the SERV type?
This
happened to her a while ago but I didn't think anything of it. I'll shutdown
the
database and bring it back up to fix it but I'm more curious about the
underlying cause.
