No

If you are using a SQL DB then you don't have anything to do with OpenEdge
at
all, you should be connecting directly to the SQL server.

If you are using an MS SQL DB then you will use one of these 2 for an ODBC
connection string.

Standard Security:
"Driver={SQLServer};Server=Your_Server_Name;Database=Your_Database_Name;Uid=
Your
_Username;Pwd=Your_Password;"

Trusted connection:
"Driver={SQLServer};Server=Your_Server_Name;Database=Your_Database_Name;Trus
ted_
Connection=yes;"

ok, so I am assuming for Epicor9 it would be as follows. SQL database.
Also, did not setup an odbcuser/odbcuser password through openedge.
Shouled we?Do I have to or can it remain sysprogress\sysprogress
Mode=Read?

"DSN=Epicor
Production;HOST=ServerName;PORT=9001;DB=Epicor904;UID=sysprogress;PWD=syspro

If you are connecting to an OpenEdge database, you should really be setting it to Mode=READ UNCOMMITED to prevent any possibility of a record lock during the access to the DB.

here's one we use (ver 6.10.541 ) :

'DSN' is set up as a 'sytem' DSN.

adoConnect.ConnectionString = "DSN=eeVantage_Mfg;HOST=eevantage;PORT=6150;DB=mfgsys;UID=odbcuser;PWD=odbcuser;Mode=Read"
