Constants.CurrentEmployeeID

I am on 9.05.701, had the same issue and in the end Epicor created SCR 116515. Call number 3052699.

Not sure if this SCR has been addressed in a current release.

Subject: [Vantage] Constants.CurrentEmployeeID

Hello,
I have been attempting to create a BAQ to show what Customers the currently logged in user is a Salesperson of. Whilst doing this I thought that it would be sensible to use the CurrentEmployeeID constant instead of the CurrentUserID (some of our userids do not match our employeeids due to length differences in the id fields)

When I test the created BAQ the currentEmployeeID field is empty. Could anyone explain why. Someone at Epicor mentioned we needed to Clock in, but we don't use MES or have a data collection license.

Why do I want to use this constant. I want to filter a copy of the salesperson workbench on current employee so that employees can only see information in the workbench relevant to them.

I have come up with a clunky alternative and that is to parameterize the customer BAQ and allow the user to select the salesperson from a dropdown list box when refreshing the dashboard, but it would be a whole lot better to just have them open it without the initial step.

Assigning separate territories to customers and salespeople is not really an option as this impacts project managers from seeing customer records in other dashboards. This could be configuration related and we are doing is all wrong, happy to take input around the use of Territories/salespeople.

Any assistance appreciated.

We are ion 9.05.701 SQL64
