You need to install the progress client along with Vantage 4.0.
In 3.0 one could get away w/o installing the Progress client.

Got a question that tech support hasn't been able to answer so far. I have
a Win95 machine running a PIII 450, IE5. After a seemingly successful
Vantage (4.00.904) install, I keep getting a series of errors starting with
"Error occurred while creating control frame: spliter 1", yata, yata, yata.
This repeats until I forcibly kill Progress. I tried un- and re-installing
IE5 per Epicor, but no luck. Any Ideas?

Alan,

We've gotten that same error before. I think we had to uninstall the
Progress client on the workstation (start/settings/control panel/add remove
programs) and then re-install the Progress client to the workstation again.

I have received this error message before on more than one computer. I just
re-installed Vantage and the second time it worked correctly.

Hi Alan,
Uninstall progress and Vantage. Go through the regestry with regedit and
delete all references to progress, prox, vantage, epicor, etc. Restart the
computer. Reinstall Progress and Vantage. If you're still having problems
reload the operating system.
