Conversion from 6.1 to 8.03.4xx

I don't know what it is, but it is working now. It would not work with test database loaded. I restored production database and went through my steps like normal as it started working again. Don't figure. Well if I have anymore trouble I will let you know. Thanks.

We were upgrading our test server that we are using to do the conversion from 6.10.541 to 8.03.409C. We made changes to our RAID and added more drives and RAID-0. So that meant we had to reload all of our software again.

The installation of Vantage 6.1.541, 8.00.705, and 8.03.409C went well. The only problem I ran into was the starting of 8.00.705 AppsServers. I believe I ran into this same problem when I first originally installed Vantage 8.00.705.

What is happening, is I start up the database. Then start up the first appserver, which is mfgsys80. The mfgsys80taskagent and mfgsys80processserver starts just fine. The mfgsys80 appserver just keep saying "starting" and if you check the status of it, it say something like, "Still starting, try again later". Eventually after many minutes it will change to "Not Running".

I won't swear to this but I think it was because the port numbers were wrong.

Has anybody else ran into this? If not, I will call support. Thanks.
There are lots of things that can cause this problem.

What do the broker and agents logs of the AppServer say?

Do you try and start it while you also have 8.00 running?

I ran into this same problem when I first originally installed Vantage
8.00.705.

I won't swear to this but I think it was because the port numbers were
wrong.
