What we did for multi Company and I believe you can do for Multi Plant also is create a seperate MES log in for each plant. We had WEL and MSA. when you log into MSA you only got what was avalible in MSA and visa versa. There were 2 icons clearly marked on the MES screen. You could do the same by attaching a MES session to plant A and a different one to Plant B etc. Another thing you might want to do if your are not using Employee pictures, you can use that space on the MES station for a logo or splash of that plant. On the client Display we used water mark backgrounds for different plants. IE Bakery had a loaf of bread and Sewing had sewing machines on the Icon level that way it was always there. Then the user in Purchasing could cleerly see what plant they were buying for.
Hope this helps a bit. KentTo: vantage@yahoogroups.com

Subject: [Vantage] Re: Convert Single Company to Multi Company
We are a Single Company but Multi-Plant.
The biggest issue we have is related to production employees working at different plants. All of our production employees use MES for clocking in/out but you can not change plants at a MES station, only a desktop client. None of our production employees have access to desktop clients, so someone has to log them into a desktop client and change the plant they will be assigned to and then the production worker can log into MES to record time entries. For us it does not happen often but employees can not see jobs that are not in their plant. Usually supervisors remember the problem once the worker has clocked in and then can not select the proper job number and the employee questions why they can not select the job.
There are minor issues when purchasing agents create PO's for a plant they are not normally assigned - if the PO Release has the incorrect plant then the plant can not receive parts. Note, we do not use Consolidated Purchasing. There will be a learning curve for desktop client users to figure out which plant they are in and perform the required tasks. Plants can now be selected on the Main Menu in Epicor 9, much easier in my opinion but Favorites can get tricky with desktop clients with multiple sessions enabled.
Hope this helps and is not overly confusing.
