Converting Pur & Mfg Comments

Try putting a CRLF after each line to force a new line (ASCII 13 and
ASCII 10) instead of the spaces. If you're doing this in Access there's
a built in constant called vbCRLF:

Part.Comment = Line1 & vbCRLF & Line2 & vbCRLF & Line3 ...

Subject: [Vantage] Converting Pur & Mfg Comments

I am trying to bring over my old system's narrative data to Vantage.
The old system has 1 to 99 lines of narrative 40 characters long,
although I am only taking the first six lines. We are on Vantage 6.1
and I am using the Data Conversion tool to get the data into Vantage.
I am preparing the narrative for conversion by concatenating the six
lines. My goal is to have the Vantage Part Comments appear exactly
like our old narratives (i.e. maintain the line by line text look)
but I can't get the spacing right. Naively, I extended each of my old
lines with spaces to get 62 characters of text per line (the number
of characters per line on the Part Comments window), however,
Vantage/Progress(?) is treating spaces differently than I am
expecting. Any ideas? Any and all input is greatly appreciated!
